Not even two weeks ago I received an email asking if I would be interested in trying out some of Daycraft's products. Having just read a review over at Pen Archives AND just winning one of their wonderful sketchbooks from Gentian at Drawing with a Squirrel, I said, sure!
Five days later the box arrived, on a day with no mail, boy, was I stoked. These guys are quick!
The box contained: Feminique Diary (purple), Animal Pals Diary (yellow), Chromatic Days Diary (orange), D-sign Notebook (white) and a Signature Sketchbook (red). In addition, they included a catalog and a letter containing a ton of information about the products. These products range in price from about $4 to $15, so they are very reasonable. The letter also states that they do not have a US distributor at this time but plan to market in the US in the 2nd half of this year.
Daycraft is a product of Tai Shing Diary, Ltd. in Hong Kong. The following is an excerpt from the letter:
Except Cantoon Series, we use woodfree paper, which characteristics are:
1. 100% from wood pulp
2. All the wood pulp comes from legal forest plant (not from protected rainforest)
3. No chlorine during dye bleaching process
4. Acid Free
5. Passes the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive from the EU
Feminique, 70 gsm cream woodfree paper, this book has a lovely lavendar brushed cover, my photos really do not capture the true lavender color of it:
Animal Pals, 60 gsm cream woodfree paper, this particular diary is Quaky the duck, but it also comes in Inkspot the dog, Professor Pig, Mulch the Cow or Harvard Horse:
Chromatic, 70 gsm white woodfree paper, this diary also comes in vibrant red, blue, yellow and green. I love the colors:
All of these diaries measure approximately 4-1/4" by 6" and the covers on the Animal Pals and Chromatic Diaries are soft and flexible, while the Feminique has a stiffer cover.
These are wonderful little books although none of them are great with a fountain pen and all have some showthrough. However, I would not let that stop me from acquiring one. After all, not everything has to work with fountain pens. Sometimes a rollerball or a ballpoint works just as well. I really like all of these diaries.
For my review I only wrote on long gone days and since these books cover 70 to 72 weeks beginning in September 2009, the winners should get a lot of use from these.
So how do you win?
Please read carefully:
Leave a comment here, you have until midnight US EST on Saturday, February 27 - you do not need to include your email address because I will not contact you if you are the winner.
I will select the winners Sunday, February 28 and announce them on Monday morning, March 1.
Since there are three of these, you will be required to leave a comment on the winners post, no later than March 7, telling me which diary you prefer AND your contact email.
The first person to post will have their choice from all three, 2nd will get to pick from the remaining two and the last, well you get the idea. Posting your preference will keep us all honest.
As usual, I will ship these anywhere in the world. Good luck and thanks for reading!!

Just read about these after reading your Pilot Namiki 78G review. I'd love to win one, as I am a confirmed journaler - with my fountain pens, naturally.
All of these diaries look wonderful. I'm currently using a Moleskine but I'd love the opportunity to try something new. You can never have enough notebooks.
Yay for giveaways! I dig the designs of the bottom two journals in the top picture.
