Featured Pen - Edison Del Coronado "Stealth Version"

[You can click on any of the photos to enlarge for more detail]

The Edison Del Coronado is the second overlay pen that Brian is producing in partnership with Dan Furlano. Dan makes jewelry and custom pens, but has been working with plating. I hope that he keeps up the work.

Here is a video from Brian about the "stealthy" version of the Del Coronado, with ruthenium plating. If you would like to view the video with about the original version please go to YouTube.

I like overlay pens, but I was not tempted to purchase one until Brian introduced with version with the ruthenium plating. Ruthenium plating changes the bright silver color of the regular rhodium plating to a darker, pewter like color.

Stealth Mode

I had Brian grind a BB nib to a stub, this pen is a lovely wet (but not too wet) writer, and yes, there is a little gold showing through the plating. It's not visible to the naked eye and I only noticed it in this close up.
