I'm Back [and there's a giveaway]

I want to apologize to all my regular readers for the long unexplained absence. But well, sometimes life happens.

Those of you have been with me for a while know that I am a CPA in public accounting... a tax preparer. This year thanks to the wisdom of Congress and the requirements imposed upon banks, brokers and others who report tax information to the IRS, plus the media's constant publication of the IRS postponing the acceptance of tax returns... well our busy season compressed into 4 weeks the work we normally have 8 weeks to complete.

Anyway, I just could not keep up with everything this year and my blogs were the first thing to suffer. Apologies also to all the people that I exchange correspondence with, I am very behind there too. But such is life.

For my blog followers I have a little giveaway [read: shameless bribe] for your patience during my absence. The giveaway consists of one medium sized priority mail box which weighs in at a healthy 11.2 pounds.

What's in the box? Honestly I can't be specific. But there is ink, a lot of ink. Some colored pencils, perhaps some paper.

Here's the story. I have way too much ink, so I decided to go through my stocks and pull out the bottles that were just not getting used. Then I went through my art supply drawers to see what was there that was not being used and in need of a new home. I packed it up and taped up the box, in mid-February. So now here in the second half of April I just don't specifically remember what is in the box. I do know that I had a heck of a time situating it all in the box, so I am not about to opened in up and try to repack it. So it is really a surprise package.

Now I need to make one thing clear. Because of the weight and size of this box international shipping is approximately $60 while domestic shipping is about $13. Because of this I will not ship this box to an international address unless you are willing to pay the difference of $47. So if you are outside the US and not willing to pay this difference, please do not enter. I will also put a declared value of the items in the box at $100, so you may be subject to VAT. I'm sorry about this but I really don't have a choice.

Ok guys, here are the rules - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read them carefully.

****LEAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS IN YOUR COMMENT****

1.  Leave a comment no later than midnight EDT May 3, 2013.

2. You MUST leave an email address, I need to know how to contact you if you are the winner.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Mystery box sounds great! I'm guilty myself of posting erratically over the past few months so I know how it is.

Hi:

My opinion, but I think readers who can't understand that bloggers have other obligations (read: have a life) are just selfish.

The giveaway is just extra kindness on your part :)

Cheers,

So sorry that tax season turned into tax week. But hopefully, things will relax a bit for you now.

I've just gotten the itch to try to do an ink swap project on my blog (I haven't mentioned it yet so don't blow my little secret) so a big box of inks would be a great way to kickstart it and give me lots of colors to swap. Thanks for sharing the wealth!

Well, I have to say I feel at least a bit responsible (albeit vicariously) because I did my taxes on the very last day, providing accountants such as yourself with a healthy dose of last-minute number majic! I would love to see what's in that box as I have been hopelessly trying to find the perfect ink for each of my fountain pens! Just yesterday I wrote my retro51 pen a cheesy poem: "Oh my! Why thou colors the fibrous sky as rain clouds fly shy of high..." It was a new Diamine iron gall black, the greys remind me of rain clouds:) - art.e (artie2668@gmail.com)
